At Crystal Dragon’s Taekwondo in the Basic Program you will learn all the basics you will need for your training. In this 6 month program you will start at White Belt level and work your way up to Yellow Belt. In this level of your training you will learn all the basic kicks, punches, & stances required for all these belt levels. You will also learn three different sets of self-defense technique’s and you will start to understand the next level of sparring (fighting) with the knowledge of one step sparring. This is the beginning of building your solid foundation in the understanding of what Songham Taekwondo is and was meant to be. You will also learn the philosophy of your belts and what it means to you. At this beginning level you will be learning self-control, respect (not only for others but for yourself as well), and good citizenship (leadership). We here at this School look forward to teaching you and seeing you progress and grow in the martial arts.

In the Black Belt Program you will be at the rank of Camo belt up. This is the part of your training where you start to build the structure of your understanding of the arts and Songham Taekwondo. In this program you can now start learning actual sparring and your training becomes more intense. You are also offered the beginning of basic weapons. This is where your protect training in weapons is offered with one weapon per training cycle. At this point of your training you will also learn the art of breaking boards. In this part of your training we use re-breakable boards for your level and age group. For fun and demonstrations we do use the real wood and have had some who have ventured into the breaking of bricks. This is not a requirement for our students to have to break wood or bricks this is just an adventure into your own personal preference but only with the permission of the Senior Instructor and at your own risk. In Sparring we use all the required safety equipment that ATA requires. This is for your protection to limit any injuries that may occur. As in any contact sport there is no way we can guarantee that you wont get injured, but with the safety equipment and strict rules used while sparring we do limit the degree of any injury.

Leadership Program: In this program you can experience all that the school has to offer. Forms, Sparring, Competition for state champ, board breaking, weapons, and our new and exciting program XMA! This program is where you the student gets to train in free style forms and weapons. This is a very disciplined program. You will learn how to choreograph your forms to music. To will learn how to present and represent yourself and your school in competition. Anyone who excels in this program is and will be able to try out for our professional demo team.

CIT Program for Junior’s and Adult’s: This is the Certified Instructor Program. Even though you may enter the leadership program you may not qualify for the CIT program. This is where you have expressed a desire to one day be either a chief instructor for a present school owner or to one day own your own school or club. In this program there are three levels of certification. Level One is Certified Trainee, Level Two is Specialty Trainee and the third level is Certified Instructor. In this program the Senior Instructor is trained in the Train the Trainee and has the qualifications to take you to the first level in school, and to teach and train you for all levels to reach the goal of Certification. The classes are taught by Mrs. Christine K. Russell our Senior Instructor and School Owner. She will instruct you in all the knowledge you will need to reach your goals. She will guide you in the right direction and teach you all you will need to one day own and operate a very successful ATA school. In the CIT program you are required to participate in all programs.

The reason for this is so you as a new school owner will have the basics you need and already know and understand all programs offered to better qualify you as a senior instructor of your own school or club. This is where you start planting seeds for the future!
